A pasta menu with room to choose
Pasta is the heart of the La Mensa menu. Pick a sauce, then pick what goes under it: spaghetti, fettuccine, penne, gnocchi or beef tortellini. Every bowl is finished with parmesan and parsley and brought to the table hot.
The classics are all here, from carbonara, bolognese and puttanesca to a slow-simmered beef ragù. Seafood lovers come for the marinara and the gamberi, cooked in our chef's traditional tomato seafood stock with a chilli, white wine or cream base. Most sauces come as an entrée or a main, so you can keep it light or make it dinner.

Where is good pasta in Hobart?
La Mensa serves a full Italian pasta menu at 93 Salamanca Place, Battery Point. You choose the pasta shape and the sauce, in an entrée or main size for most dishes.
Do you have gluten-free pasta?
Yes. Gluten-free penne can be swapped into any pasta dish for a small surcharge, and all of our risottos are gluten free. Please mention allergies when ordering.
Which pasta dishes are vegetarian?
Aglio e olio, pesto, vegetarian alfredo, arrabiata, mushroom and pomodoro are all vegetarian, and they are marked with a V on the menu.
Do you serve seafood pasta?
Yes. The marinara is a mix of seafood in our traditional tomato seafood stock, and the gamberi is made with prawns. Both can be made with a chilli, white wine or cream base.
Can kids get a smaller pasta?
Yes. The kids menu has pasta with bolognese or Napolitana sauce for guests 12 and under, and it includes a small soft drink.
