Finding a family restaurant in Hobart that suits toddlers, teenagers and grandparents at the same table is not always easy. Italian food makes it simple. There is pizza and pasta for the kids, seafood, veal and a glass of Tasmanian wine for the adults, and tiramisu for anyone who saved room.
La Mensa is a relaxed, family-friendly restaurant at 93 Salamanca Place. Our kids menu is for guests 12 and under and includes a small soft drink, and we open early enough in the evening for younger diners to eat and still be home by bedtime.
As a family restaurant in Salamanca we are also an easy finish to a day out: a walk along the waterfront, an afternoon at the museum or a wander through Battery Point, then dinner together. For bigger family gatherings, our share-style set menus take care of the ordering for groups of 8 or more.
