Sandy Bay has plenty going on, but when you want a proper Italian dinner, La Mensa is an easy trip in. Follow Sandy Bay Road towards the city, past Battery Point, and you arrive at Salamanca Place, where we are at number 93.
Students from the University of Tasmania's Sandy Bay campus come in for pasta and pizza that go a long way; families come for the kids menu; couples come for dinner on the waterfront before a walk along the strip. The menu runs from antipasto and arancini to pasta, risotto, pizza and Italian mains.
